The beginning.. my first steps as a runner.

So... I started running again today. It is my addiction and my release. According to those that have seen me run, I do not really run... I kind of WOG (walk/jog). Yes, I have kind friends and family. Why today? Well about 12ish years ago I quit smoking and started running right around this time of year. In that time, I have run two half marathons.. okay wogged two half marathons. The time is not important suffice to say that I am hoping to wog another one and a marathon to boot. Why am I telling you this? Well, I hope by telling you that it will keep me honest.

I am going to follow Jeff Galloways plan to start the running/conditioning for beginners all the way up to the full marathon plan. Why am I going to do this? Well the short story is that I need to lose weight. The longer/funnier story is that I was at a child's birthday party when I entered the bouncy house. 30-45 seconds of bouncing left me breathless for quite sometime. This is unacceptable especially as my husband (who did not enter the bouncy house) was making fun of me. That shall not stand. Nay Nay. I am only 39 years old. I am not decrepit...yet. A lot of people will start with telling you all about themselves, their goal for their blog, and their goals for the future. Since you are reading this... you have probably realized that I may not be doing that right away. The reason is simple. I do not know what the goals are. here is a list of my current life goals

I would really like to retire earlier than 55/become financially independent so that I can choose when I retire.
I want to travel the world or at least to the countries on my travel list.
I want to become a good canner (I really want to be a master canner, but I am not sure what all that entails).
I want to run an ultra marathon (stretch goal 100 miles)
